In this interactive session, Vaibhav Ranjan, Principal & Head, International Business, TJC, discusses the global semiconductor shortage with Gaurav Asthana, Managing Partner, TJC.

What is the reason for this sudden spike in the shortage? Vaibhav says, "I am going to put it very simply. The shortage is because of overpopulation. We just explored the need for semiconductors in everything we use, and we did not plan to cater to the demand via our existing supply chains which created a massive deficit. On top of that, the pandemic happened, which increased the supply-demand gap."

Started his career designing components for ISRO’s (Indian Space Research Organization) Moon & Mars Mission, Vaibhav Ranjan, Principal & Head, International Business, Transjovan Capital, reminisces his ~17 years of experience and what attracted him towards consulting.

After completing his Masters of Business Administration from the prestigious London Business School and AGSM, Sydney, Vaibhav chose to consult because (his own words)- “We (consultants) work on some of the toughest problems that create a dent in the universe at times.” Yes, it is the love for challenges that entices him.
