A carve-out acquisition is when a buyer acquires a specific business unit, division, product line, or asset from a larger company rather than purchasing the entire enterprise. These deals often require detailed separation planning for IT systems, finance, HR, contracts, and operations. Strong carve-out execution helps preserve continuity, reduce disruption, and accelerate value capture after closing.
